- The Palatine Public Library District, located approximately 28 miles northwest of Chicago, primarily serves nearly 90,000 residents of Palatine, Hoffman Estates and Rolling Meadows. The District operates in three facilities (Main Library at 700 N. North Court in Palatine, Rand Road Branch at 1585 Rand Road in the Palatine Opportunity Center, and Freeman Road Branch at 1262 Freeman Road in Hoffman Estates), and provides Bookmobile service to schools and apartment complexes in Palatine.
Mission Statement
Palatine Public Library encourages lifelong learning and enrichment through the exploration of books and other media and provides services and materials which will promote a well-informed and literate community.
To accomplish this mission the Library emphasizes its primary roles as:
* An information service providing access to timely, accurate, and useful information to people of all ages in their pursuit of educational, job-related, and personal interests;
* A popular materials service providing access to current and popular materials for people of all ages; and
* A lifelong learning resource providing access to materials relevant to the interests of independent learners of all ages.
