This is a 2-story store, on the east side of Woodward Ave (the right side if you're traveling north on Woodward), across the street from the southern end of downtown Birmingham (which is bisected by Old Woodward Ave): the upper level has the café (with an outside deck that is open in nice weather; you may smoke on the deck), the CD and DVD (this store has quite a good selection of world music), manga, graphic novels, travel books, maps, music books, reference books, cooking and diet books, etc. This store frequently has author appearances, and when local luminary Elmore ("Dutch") Leonard shows up, the line for his autograph snakes throughout the entire length of the store.

Borders went out of business; this store closed after Sunday, 25 September 2011. *SOB!*
