- Friends of the Jackson County Library is a volunteer organization whose purpose is to support the Jackson County Public Library through advocacy, financial contribution, and volunteering. The used book store, operated by the Jackson County Friends, is managed and staffed entirely by volunteers. Located on Main Street, across from The Sylva Herald n the heart of downtown Sylva, the book store is open year-round, seven days a week. We stick a wide variety of books, magazines, music, CDs and videos, all donated by members of our community. Audio books, LP records, and large print books are also available. The proceeds from the store support our new library complex , which opened in June of 2011 and was built adjacent to and incorporating the historic Jackson County Courthouse at the west end of Main Street. Bookstore hours are:
Monday-Friday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
