Honobu Yonezawa

This was probably my favorite anime series when I still consumed the medium several years ago. Having now nearly finished this first volume, I'm feeling rather sorry that I didn't pick up the remaining five while I was still in Osaka and had such easy access to that massive Kinokuniya branch just outside the ticket gates of Osaka-Umeda station.

Given my yet-developing Japanese ability, I can't say very much about the writing style, but the story is a treat. With a number of years having past since I had last seen the show, many of the details were foggy---and so I liked having those aha-moments in which the next event or reveal came back to me as I read, alongside the delight I must've felt at the time. Obviously, this isn't much of a real review as there's a dense cloud of nostalgia obscuring most judgment that might be useful to those who haven't already had some exposure to Hyouka.… (plus d'informations)
