If you are tired of the usual arrangements of traditional Christmas music, and would like something with more dissonance, then this is a book for you. As for me, I still like the usual harmonies.

Here is an example of some usual harmonization.

My favorite carol collection, with artwork from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The 2-CD set, by David Willcocks and the Royal College of Music Chamber Choir and Brass Ensemble, is one of my favorite Christmas albums, though sadly out of print.

A superb collection of choral arrangements of Christmas carols.
This book updates and expands on the Oxford Carol books numbers 1, 2 and 3, which were edited by David Willcocks. Seventy-four of the most popular carols from those books are included here. There are 26 new pieces added, including familiar classics, recent original carols, and some new arrangements of traditional favourites. A great many of the arrangements are by Willcocks or by John Rutter, who are recognized masters in the English choral music tradition. The arrangements are challenging and require good choir singers and strong music readers. Many of these carols have been recorded by John Rutter conducting the Cambridge Singers, or by David Willcocks conducting the choir of King's College.
A superb collection, great resource for church or amateur choirs planning a Christmas concert.
