This is such a fun collection. Drawing on a decade of articles from Melody Maker and NME (think: British Rolling Stone magazine), it's separated into ten chapters, running from 1970 to 1979, and much of the news that was news at that time.

Through the years, you can see the initial slight disdain for Led Zeppelin blossom into worship, the constant love of Bowie and Dylan, the incredible (and incredibly wrong) hate of anything Pink Floyd put out. In fact, the last article completely mocks the forthcoming release, then referred to as Bricks, before, of course, being called The Wall.

It's also interesting how often they got things wrong. Sometimes you see that fall through the following years' articles, sometimes you just know because history proved them wrong. They obviously never would have guessed that Dark Side of the Moon or Wish You Were Here would stand up four decades later. They referred to Fleetwood Mac's Rumours as, ultimately, forgettable.

And sadly, there's also all the obituaries that were written through those years.
