- Louisa Jane McDonnell, née Grey, Countess of Antrim, spent her whole life in close proximity to the British royal family. She was a granddaughter of Charles, 2nd Earl Grey, private secretary to Prince Albert, the Prince Consort. In 1875, she married William Randal McDonnell, 6th Earl of Antrim, with whom she had three children. In 1890, the countess became a Lady of the Bedchamber to Queen Victoria, a position she held for the rest of the queen's life. After Queen Victoria's death, she served Queen Alexandra, consort of King Edward VII.
