I enjoyed this book which was more like an essay on America than an autobiography. ( I read a biography last February, but wish I had read "Going Rogue," her autobiography instead.) Since I bought this at the Dollar Tree I didn't feel I had much to lose. It certainly made up for all the duds I got there. I pretty much agreed with everything she had to say. I must admit, I didn't finish this book. Not that I don't like Sarah Palin. Not that this isn't a thoughtful book, or even that is not well written. It isn't even that it is uninspiring. I just felt this book is better geared towards the new conservative or those unfamiliar with Palin's political philosophy. I really liked this book that covers both Sarah's life, and especially those events and accusations that were in the press for a minute, giving her a chance to explain her side, and the ideas that have caused her to choose where she stands. It is more about freedom to practice your faith in public, based on the examples of the men who wrote the Constitution. She said that if we follow the Constitution as written, people of all faiths are protected and free to practice and express their faith. It is not necessairly a campaign piece, but an exposition of ideas to choose to support or not. She is definitely pro-life at every stage. She is pro-America, but admits that America has not always done the right thing over time, but has the tools to fix what's broken.
Palin's prose is fluid, quite unlike the fractured syntax common at her unscripted public appearances, a total reboot that suggests an excellent ghostwriter. Distinctions

HTML: In the fall of 2009, with the publication of her #1 national bestselling memoir, Sarah Palin had the privilege of meeting thousands of everyday Americans on her extraordinary 35-city book tour. Inspired by these encounters, her new book, America By Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith, and Flag, celebrates the enduring strengths and virtues that have made this country great. Framed by her strong belief in the importance of family, faith, and patriotism, the book ranges widely over American history, culture, and current affairs, and reflects on the key valuesâ??both national and spiritual-that have been such a profound part of Governor Palin's life and continue to inform her vision of America's future. Written in her own refreshingly candid voice, America By Heart will include selections from classic and contemporary readings that have moved her-from the nation's founding documents to great speeches, sermons, letters, literature and poetry, biography, and even some of her favorite songs and movies. Here, too, are portraits of some of the extraordinary men and women she admires and who embody her deep love of country, her strong rootedness in faith, and her profound love and appreciation of family. She will also draw from personal experience to amplify these timely (and timeless) themesâ??themes that are sure to inspire her numerous fans and readers all across the country Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
