What a wonderful start to a new graphic novel series-now I'm dying for the next. Graham and Brody are my kind of heroes! ( ) As a big fan of the American Revolution and fantasy, I was intrigued by the book's concept and unimpressed with its execution. Brody and Graham are two runaways that get caught by Ben Franklin's evil son William and subjected to electrical experiments that give them inhuman physical powers for short periods of time. They link up with abolitionist Benjamin Lay, and take some vengeance on the Sorensen family's slave hunter and his dogs. A dark book, with only mediocre artwork -- faces, in particular, were quite inconsistent. This book was a little bit weird and really hard to follow. There were several stories in there and some how they all connected. To be honest, I have no idea what this book was about. It was set in the time of the Revolutionary war but other that, not much. The title was very misleading and this a graphic novel for older grades like 6th and up. I really liked this interesting cross between historical fiction and what is clearly gearing up to be a superhero story. Unlike most of the superhero books I have read, where the book starts in the middle of a hero's career and goes back to the origin story later. This volume is clearly an origin story. The book takes place pre revolutionary war and deals with slaving. Some very familiar historical faces make cameos. I can't wait to see who we meet next and where the story is going to go. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Teenage runaway slaves with superhuman powers, a Hessian giant, the most evil slave owners imaginable, and Benjamin Franklin: this story of the Revolution blends fact and fantasy in an imaginative reinterpretation of a critical time in American history.
