So, I quit about halfway through because I got busy reading books for the HS library. It wasn't that I didn't like it because I really did. I want to buy the bundle for my Kindle. It's pretty cheap and even though it has Rebel in it, I'd like to read about the other Blades.

Zoe Archer does a great job making this world feel real and not too out there. I have purchased quite a few of her books for my Kindle. ( )

I was on the edge of my seat through most of this action based mystery. The story follows a Naitive American lawyer who was raised in camp after being taken from his family. He travels to the wilds and meets woman who brings out the magic hidden in him. His path leads him to stories of magic/native histories/danger/love and one great adventure. His eyes open to shifters/ witches/and anicent beings.
It reminded me a lot of The Tarin Soul series. It had the same feeling in the action/romance/magical/adventure. ( )

When the Heirs of Albion killed her husband, Astrid retreated from the world - all the way to the Canadian frontier where she isolated herself in a tiny remote cabin, cutting herself off from friends, family, and the Blades of the Rose. But when a naked, bloody man crosses her path, she can hardly leave him to freeze.

Lawyer Nathan Lesperance is a walking contradiction. First, he's a Native American. Second, he's a lawyer. Not a combination ever seen in the Northwest Territory. And he's about to discover that he's much, much more. But not before he's abducted, tortured, and escapes to drop bleeding and naked at Astrid Bramfield's feet.

And so opens the third installment of the Blades of the Rose, in which a motley band of freedom-fighters strive to thwart the scions of English privilege, the Heirs of Albion in the latter's quest to conquer the world.

Another page-turner. ( )

Standard paranormal romance, very predictable. Meh. ( )

I am not a paranormal, shifter reader and I have this book because it was free down-load. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to read more of her work. The love scenes were so expressively written and her word choices rich in meaning and texture. The whole adventure was thrilling too. I recommend this read. ( )
