Three stars for the story and another one for the fact that the author managed to wrap it all up in one book instead of dragging it out into a three or four book series like you see so often now. This was my first read by Melissa Marr and I enjoyed her writing. I'll be reading more by her. ( ) I have started this book, because of the good reviews, the synopsis, the title, the cover. I honestly have to say, that i could not wait for the book to be over. I kept reading and waiting for the interesting parts of the story, the horror or suspense and it was quite longwinded, not suspenseful. Nice story that could have been a lot more and a lot more interesting. I have wanted to stop reading after about 1/4 of the book, but made my self drag though it. The only reason for me to finish this book is that i don't like unfinished books and i had already stopped one book this year.Since the story idea was actually pretty decent and quite interesting, the book received 2 stars. But one thing is clear, i will not be reading any of Melissa Marr's books in the future. This is a departure from Melissa Marr's Wicked Lovely series (which I could never get into) and I wish she'd write more like this! The Graveminder starts with a fairly simple, yet interesting premise and the mystery of the world that the heroine is thrust into is slowly revealed to us. It's got the flavor of southern Gothic to it, with just the right touch of creepiness and a taste of decaying southern grace. There's nothing earth-shattering in this book, and you can pretty much guess where it is going, but the writing and characters are engrossing enough that you don't mind going on the journey with them. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Rebekkah Barrow never forgot the tender attention her grandmother, Maylene, bestowed upon the dead of Claysville. Now Maylene is dead and Bek must go back to the place--and the man--she left a decade ago. But what she soon discovers is that Maylene was murdered. It turns out that in placid Claysville, the worlds of the living and the dead are dangerously connected. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
