This 1971 book is subtitled “The Respectable Phenomenon,” as if to ward off contrary criticism. Sybil Leek defines telepathy, in part, as communication outside of the “recognized channels of sense.” In this, Leek includes love at first sight: “eyes and minds transmitting messages that defy logical explanation,” and calls love the “ultimate in association.”

Another common occurrence that falls under Leek’s definition of telepathy is the sensing of the death of a relation or friend – before the death occurs. Leek also covers techniques for transmitting messages telepathically, hypnotism, other phenomena, and provides a lot of first-person anecdotal evidence of telepathy.

The book involves little actual science, but is fun to read for anyone interested in telepathy – respectable or not. ( )
