Which is so weird because I disliked Cait and Dash so much in the previous books. But I liked getting to know them on their own. In this book, Dash, the Lycan who fought William for Prisca in the last book, has managed to "accidentally" bite Cait during the full moon, thus marking her as his Lycan mate for life. Their journey to love leads him to his past where he finally finds out who he really is and where he really comes from. The fights and the banter between Cait and Dash were amusing and it was really cute watching them fall for each other. Dash was a lot more noble than he came off in the last book and it was kind of hard to reconcile the two sides of the character. But for the most part, he was very likeable in this book. This one is actually one of my favorites in the entire series. ( ) The Taming of the Wolf 4 Stars Synopsis: Dashiel Thorpe struggles to control the beast inside him, but when the full moon rises he succumbs to his baser nature and inadvertently binds Caitrin Macleod to him forever. Despite her ability to see the future, Cait has never been able to predict her own and has spent her life searching for someone to love and a place to belong. When Dash claims her has his own, she believes that she has finally found what she has always wanted. Review: A significant improvement over The Wolf Next Door. Cait and Dash have a wonderful connection and their chemistry sizzles. I often found myself smiling during their witty banter. Dash is tortured and sexy, and their are moments in the book were his suffering is quite poignant. He is not nearly as arrogant as Ben Westfield in his acceptance of Cait's abilities and even though he struggles with his true nature, he allows his love for Cait to calm his baser instincts. Caitrin is willful and feisty, and refuses to allow Dash to turn away from what he needs the most - love and acceptance. Overall, a delightful read with engaging characters and some steamy scenes. There are also numerous hints throughout the book of stories yet to come that involve the remaining members of Caitrin's coven and I look forward to reading them in Dare's Vampyre trilogy. I'm surprised I liked this book as much as I did, for I wasn't overly fond of Caitrin in the last two books. She's still cranky, but not as much here. She and Dash (who we meet in the previous reviewed book) get together after he inadvertently claims her on the full moon by biting her neck. Little does she know the meaning of this (she is now his mate for life) and only got angry at him for biting her. He is at a disadvantage because he doesn't know she is a witch, yet she knows he's a Lycan. These crazy kids! What a mess! They journey from England to Edinburgh where he enlists the help of her father to get her to agree to marry him. Most of the story is how he wins her over and he learns how to be a mannerly werewolf - oops, I mean Lycan. Not bad, but not great either. I think this series is losing it's oomph. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
