BTRIPP's review of Larry Schweikart's "Seven Events That Made America America: And Proved That the Founding Fathers Were Right All Along" (2206 words) This is one of those books you wish all American kids should;however, since their teachers refuse to learn American history the kids will never get it. From Martin Van Buren, Dred Scott, Johnstown, Ike's heart, rock, Reagan, and Obama, Schweikart makes the case for the events that made America. He does not choose the big events as much as he concentrates on the smaller events that led to momentous consequences. I hate to warn any reader in a review, but this book is not a plop-in-a-chair and breeze through history in seven essays. In his typical fashion, Mr. Schweikart pens a useful and in depth book. What makes it less of a recreational read is how densely it is written; his book is a truly academic foray into how and when we got to our present day political standing. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
Notable conservative historian Larry Schweikart takes an in-depth look at seven transformative moments in our nation's history and provides an analysis of how each of them spurred a trend that either confirmed or departed from the vision our Founding Fathers had for America.
