This book is a good one to read before a lesson and see if the students understand each page and the vocabulary and if not then the teacher is able to know what part (demicals, fractions, or percentages) he/she needs to focus on more during the lesson. They used a county fair for the illustrations and use different examples to go with that theme. For example, when someone buys cotton candy for .89 cents they say 89 is a part of one dollar. There are 100 cents in one dollar. 89/100 would be the fraction. They would use that same example for decimals and percents. Like, the cotton is 89% of a dollar. The illustrations was really cool. I would show this book to a kid who is not really fond of these topics or needs more visual interaction. ( )
