It's hard to say anything about this book without including spoilers, but I'll give it a shot. I LOVED this series! I did get frustrated while reading because the story is spread out over all five books. There is no conclusion at the end of the first four books, just more questions. Fortunately, I discovered this series after the fifth book had been published, so I was able to read them all straight through. I hear that KMM is writing a spin-off series, and I can NOT wait. All the important questions were answered, but there are some characters I would like to see more of. Great writing, great story. Definitely recommend. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Alina is dead and her sister Mac has returned to Ireland, the country that expelled them, to hunt her sister's murderer. But after discovering that she descends from a bloodline both gifted and cursed, she descends into an epic battle between humans and Fae immortals as the Sinsar Dubh turns on her, and begins mowing a deadly path through those she loves. Mac's journey will force her to face the truth of her exile, and make a choice that will either save the world ... or destroy it. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

I just finished this book, so you'll need to excuse any I coherence. I would imagine that there's gonna be a lot of babbling in the initial reviews in this one;it was tat good. I couldnt even stop myself from reading to highlight significant passages, but that's okay. I'll be rereading this series many, many times.
Okay, let me get my thoughts together.
General-
The first thing that comes to mind are Moning's previous Highlander books. This book makes me want to read them again. If I'm not mistaken, a couple of previous characters make brief appearances in the book. Very brief, but interesting enough that I'm going to go read again.
Plot-
I love it when a writer does the unexpected and literally DRAGS me down a storyline that I don't want to go; upsetting me with plot twists and actions. Then sitting back and demonstrating such awesomeness that I'm eventually embarrassed that I doubted them. This book did that for me, hell, the whole series did. It doesn't happen frequently, but always surprises and delights.
Other Books-
The way is left open for future books. Perhaps not with Mac as the main character, but I can easily see Dani, or some of Barrons boys as leads. I'm not sure if I even want to see Mac as the lead again, but trust Ms. Moning to do her justice if she will be.
All in all, I see this book as being in MY list of best books of 2011. ( )
