Di Arde la notte ho apprezzato tutto tranne la storia d’amore tra Isaac e Grier, che è molto veloce, a tratti bizzarra e troppo classica per i miei gusti. Che noia questa gente che si vede, si piace e boom, amore per sempre, morirei per te!

Ho trovato molto più interessante i conflitti interiori di Matthias, che purtroppo non ha avuto grande spazio nel romanzo, e le dinamiche tra Jim, Adrian ed Eddie, che potrebbero dare vita a frizioni coinvolgenti. Penso anche che, dopo l’ultimo incontro tra Devina e Jim, sappiamo già come finirà questa serie, ma speriamo che il viaggio mantenga vivo l’interesse.

Il problema di Arde la notte e – mi sbilancio – forse dell’intera serie è la difficoltà, non ben superata qui, di far interessare chi legge sia alla cornice (la guerra tra paradiso e inferno che vede Jim come arbitro) e la storia d’amore di turno. Spero che Envy risollevi la serie, perché sono determinata ad arrivare in fondo per capire tutti i riferimenti quando questa storia diventerà parte integrante della Confraternita del Pugnale Nero…

Devo dire che il mio giudizio su questo libro è parecchio cambiato perché nel 2012 gli avevo assegnato addirittura cinque stelline su Goodreads… però non avevo scritto la recensione, quindi non ho idea di cosa mi avesse spinto a dare un voto così generoso. So solo che i miei gusti letterari in questi anni hanno subito un bello sconvolgimento… ( )

I love Ward's sense of humor, and the stories are amazing. I love that her heroes are imperfect walking-on-the-edge guys. I'm starting to feel sad for Jim, Eddie & Adrian, though. They need someone special, too. ( )

I gave the book five stars because I love the author, and although the story dragged on for an unbearable amount of time, I did like the basis of the story. I think it was a sad but happy ending. ( )

So if you have made it to the 2nd book you know that this series is about the 7 sins and has 2 mc's, Jim (the newly fallen angel) & Devina (the female demon) that are in all 6 books.
Jim must save 7 souls from Devina.

Each book in the series also has the 2 mc's whose souls have to be saved. In this story those souls are Isaac Rothe and Grier Childe. While I loved them both...... There were a few parts that didn't 'Completely' do it for me like bk#1 did. Well, actually those parts weren't just about Isaac & Grier, but..... You will have to read it to understand when I say,
"There are parts that put me off"

Now if bk#1 didn't have enough action in it for you, this one definitely ups that anty.
Devina is going no holds barred in her war to win the souls away from the good side.

Speaking of Devina, you get a lot more character build on her in this one.
You also get the goods on another bad guy.
There are added layers to what's going on with Jim.
And the layers for the story line get more interesting.

I liked bk#1 better, but I still loved this story & I raced to get bk#3 ( )

I'm really enjoying this series! It's great in audiobook format! I just discovered that I enjoy audiobooks, I hope that isn't limited to this series! (3.5 stars) ( )
