Every so often I get it in my head that I really ought to be giving books away if I don't absolutely love them. Since I wasn't head over heels with more than about half the stories in this book of fantasy and sci fi stories about cats, I put it in the Little Free Library...only to regret that decision.

Some of the stories that have stuck with me include a medieval historical fantasy about a cat and an exotic feline-esque dog (a cheetah) who work together to return a stolen magical stone to its rightful owner; a cat who goes into an alternate universe through a laundry machine...a universe made up of socks and other things that people lose in the laundry; and a sci-fi retelling of a fable about strangers in a new land, where a genetically modified cat and its hunting abilities are far more valuable to the local aliens than any of the diplomat's grander gifts. ( )

This was kinda awful.  The first two stories aren't too bad, but after that the writing just goes seriously miserable.  I didn't finish it... ( )
