I really liked book. I liked this book for two main reasons. Number 1 I liked it because it was really informative. Number 2 it kept me engaged, surprisingly. Obviously biography books are informative, but this book talked about the most important facts of Franklin Roosevelt. The book also relayed their information using very simple language which is good for beginning readers to not only read but also comprehend. For example, the author states “then they lost their jobs”. The author uses simple language instead of using a word like unemployment. This helps readers understand what they are reading better. Another reason I liked this book was because it was very engaging. The pictures helped me visualize the events and settings when they were described in the book. Also the author included dialogue which is uncommon in biographies. Being able to know how the person feels and what they are saying at a certain time makes it more interesting for readers and this author was able to do that. The main idea of this book was to explain who Franklin Roosevelt was and what events in history he was a part of. ( )

A good introductory biography of one of America's greatest Presidents. It's not warts and all, but like many books in this series it includes some of Roosevelt's failures as well as his success. Another great historical read with my son. ( )

A very informative book that is written in a way that elementary students would be able to understand. It does a great job of highlighting the great things that Franklin Roosevelt did for this country while still shedding light on how he was as a person. The book is written in a way that makes you feel like you really knew who he was and how he was as a president.

A readable and exciting biography of President Franklin D Roosevelt, Margaret Frith articulated the history of the former president in a way that young children can enjoy. Frith portrayed the former president as courageous in battling his disease of Polio that left him wheelchair bound. Despite the odds, Franklin D Roosevelt was able to lead a nation desperate of hope through the Great Depression and into World War II. Because he led this country through tremendously difficult times, President Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected four times, spending thirteen years in the white house. Highly recommended.

This biography is written for children ages 8 and above. It has fun illustrations and covers the major accomplishments of FDR's presidency.
