But during World War II, he left the Captain Easy strip to createa more realistic fighting man, a Navy pilot named John Singer Sawyer, who foughtin the Pacific Theater from 1943 until V-J Day in 1945. There are multiple Buz Sawyer collections called Book 1, Vol. 1, and/or The War in the Pacific, but they are not all the same book and should not be combined.
This is Buz Sawyer Vol. 1: The War in the Pacific in a series published by Fantagraphics. It reprints strips dated November 1943 to October 1945.
