"The Ugly Duckling" is a short play by Winnie-the-Pooh author A.A. Milne, which reflects all the humor and wit and wordplay typical of its creator. It deals beautifully with ideas of the inherent dignity of human beings and what true beauty is about--but not in the trite and overused ways we often run into today! Instead it suggests maybe beauty is something that comes from choosing to look on someone with love. A thirty-minute delight.

Very, very clever play. Almost more suited for adults than children. Some of the humor would be lost on younger audiences. (

If you ever get your hands on this, read it. It will take you about 15 minutes, and you will laugh. If you don't laugh, go straight to an undertaker and make arrangements for your funeral, because you must be dead.
