The illustrations in this book were creative and humorous and it caught my attention right away. I think this would be a great book to integrate into my writing lessons to help students on using more adjectives and expanding on their writing. It was a fun book that I could see many of my students enjoying. Adult Reader Reaction: The simplicity is elegant. The poems are fun, not just for kids. The wordplay is clever and the pen-and-ink illustrations add to the fun. There is a poem (or two or three) for everyone. Pros: When you read The Wonder Book, plan to giggle, guffaw and share some hugs! Let the kids take the lead and pick the poems / illustrations they want to share. Read our full review and add yours at The Reading Tub®. This book is full of fun word play. It is not a story meant to be read in its entirety. Each page is a separate idea and a new discovery. The topics are releveant to the the lives of children. Topics such as: tooth fairy's, parents, food, manners, whining, toys, and birthdays. There are great references to things that stduents would be familar with like, tae kwon do, chocolate chip pancakes, and television. This will definitely keep the attention of young readers. This is a fun, informative way to teach students about poetry and palindromes. It's having fun with language. Each page is filled with black and white drawings reminiscent of childhood doodling. Fun book meant to be read aloud. Recommended grades: K-4 Another great silly poetry book! This one focuses on the little wonders of life, like how your dad can make perfect pancakes every time. He must have gone to pancake college. The drawings are simple black and white sketches which while assisting the understanding of a poem also leave a lot of room for imagination. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
