Unpopular Opinion, I love this series!

I am glad I do not usually read reviews before I read a book otherwise looking at the Goodreads review, I would never have read this book. It really goes to show that reading is truly an artform and up for interpretation or to each their own on their opinion. I originally had purchased this series for my daughter back when she was a teenager, then when she moved out, I thought I might enjoy it as well.

I have always been into fallen angels and things like that, so I figured this series was up my ally; however, being the mood reader that I am I shelved this book and time of course got away from me and I did not read it. Now sitting on my shelves for about 10 years, I told myself this year will be the year I get through all my old books and if I do not it was time to let them go.

The first book Fallen I read in a day, I rated it four stars ✨✨✨✨ , I will not lie or exaggerate when I say so far these books are terribly slow-paced and are a hard read but once I was in, I was hooked.😏

I do agree that Luce can be frustrating, I'm over here, girl I need you to listen to the warnings and stop being so stubborn and doing things your way because you are only making things worse, 🤦 but in hindsight, this is the kind of angst and drama in books that I enjoy.
I have my own theories that I continue to bounce of my daughter but also tell her do not tell me what really happens, but this is what I am thinking aloud.

My first theory was that Luce is really Lucifer and that is why all this forbidden, angels and demons at war is going on, but then I am thinking what if Luce is Lucifer’s daughter? Daniel is the son of God and them falling in love of course is a big no- no. Either way I look forward to continuing reading this series and I would recommend this to anyone who is patient enough reading through a hard read but likes stories regarding forbidden romance, bad drama, and fallen angels.

I do not agree with some of the reviews that I read, that say the characters are one dimensional, I know I felt drawn to the characters and the story line. Is it frustrating? Sure, but am I enjoying it? Absolutely. Four ✨✨✨✨ for me. I already started on the next book.
As always happy reading, and it is okay if we do not agree on all the same books.

So far this is a really good book you learn much more about Luce and Daniel in this book and there are some new characters introduced. Shelby is a great character and friend to Luce and so are her teachers Francesa and Steve. Luce has come so far lately. She has mastered how to handle these announcers. This book so far reminds me of Twilight. I really enjoyed this book i just purchased Passion and i am going to start reading it today. ( )

It oddly got decent, like our main character starts to contemplate the fact that her relationship with the guy is literally killing her each life making her start over, and leaving her family each life grieving her. To the point that she starts to actually resent him.

That means she suddenly aware that he's not a great guy and is causing her life stress and struggle, and she's mad about it.

Character development? In trashy YA books? Geez it's finally happened.

This is an incredible thing and I really really like it, it's basically everything I've ever wanted. And somehow we're at the point that I now have fear we're going to lose it.

I really could not care about her classmates, they all have super op abilities like I don't get it with the angel idea. You can't just have them have flight or connection with God and leave it at that? It's always going to go past that. They have like powerful abilities, and they're just chilling in a high school.

My bingo card is filled.

But then she starts to call him out on his abusive behavior. She's calling Daniel out for being an asshole abusive man. How often do we get a book where the abuser is actually called out? This is wild.

Of course it's not possible that this would be a consistent thing in the series, we all know that they're going to get together. It's all but written in the stars that they are fated lovers and bound to get together blah blah blah.

What- The fact that they even touched upon it is enough to impress me. I'm very tired of these books to the point that when they touch upon something like this I'm excited and please even though this is the bare minimum. So I'm excited and please and reading this book higher just for doing the bare minimum because so few books do that. So I don't know if that means this book is really good or if it's just exceptional amongst the unexceptional. But it's getting a higher rating so far and that's good. For it at least.

Also there's this implication that Daniel was in a relationship with a seventeen year old "years ago". That would make him a child predator by all those ages. But they repeat it as "years ago" again and again. Author did not think that went through.

2.5 stars.

We're going up. Now for the fall! ( )

Hell on earth.

That’s what it’s like for Luce to be apart from her fallen angel boyfriend, Daniel. It took them an eternity to find one another, but now he has told her he must go away. Just long enough to hunt down the Outcasts—immortals who want to kill Luce. Daniel hides Luce at Shoreline, a school on the rocky California coast with unusually gifted students: Nephilim, the offspring of fallen angels and humans.

At Shoreline, Luce learns what the Shadows are, and how she can use them as windows to her previous lives. Yet the more Luce learns, the more she suspects that Daniel hasn’t told her everything. He’s hiding something—something dangerous. What if Daniel’s version of the past isn’t actually true? What if Luce is really meant to be with someone else?
