I am going to suggest it to any teacher who teaches a Fairytale/Folktale unit. It combines references to many other fairytales/folktales as well as includes the basic elements to be part of their ranks. The dialogue is very realistic (and makes for a great read-aloud) and the illustrations add depth to the story. This was such a cute book, I enjoyed the lesson of the story. The pictures were pretty to look at and fit right along with the story. It had a theme that is common in other folktales, just told in different way. That is how I would use this book, I'd find other tales that were similar to this one and use it to compare and contrast the stories and how and why they might be different due to the land where they were told. Summary: This book is about a little girl who was found in the woods by a lizard which was a witch. The girls name was Isabella, she was very lazy and a prince asked her to marry her and she accepted. The step witch mother was very angry and turned her face to a goat. later, Isabella loved todo things by herself and soon after that her face turned back to normal. Personal Reaction: This book is was so cute, I loved how they used a goat face. I had never heard of that, it was very neat. The book was well written. Classroom Extension Ideas: 1. The class could participate in a game like pin the goat on Isabellas face. 2. Talk about what we do for ourselves. 3. Talk about ways we could be productive. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
When Isabella, a beautiful but lazy young woman, agrees to marry an equally lazy prince, the sorceress who raised her gives her the head of a goat in hopes that she will learn to do things for herself. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
