A biography of W C Fields that I don't believe half of, but don't really care. Reading this is like watching a W C Fields movie -- one great scene after another, every tale told with the flourishes that made Fields so iconic. Except for one short section that spends too much time reprinting reviews of his early burlesque shows, Follies and Fortunes flows smoothly through what must have been 100's of hours of interviews with those who knew Fields.
