Tolly was a good lead and I loved Tess. She was a strong woman and made him a great match. I enjoyed watching her stray from the rules of proper behaviour and how she would justify it, as well as how Tolly couldn't get Tess off his mind. Still would love a book about the Duke of Sommerset. ( )

I’ve come to associate Ms Enoch’s historical romances with appalling historical goofs. The moment she introduced the Indian Thuggee motif in this story, I braced myself for the inevitable disaster.

It wasn’t long coming. I’m left wondering why.

A quick glance at the relevant Wikipedia article would have averted the catastrophe.
