I think I need to see how the next book in this series develops. On the plus side, I liked the Vampire Princess and it wasn't full of annoying teenage angst. Fairly original; original enough I want to read more of the worldbuilding. On the downside, I sniff a love triangle approaching and everything was pretty easy where it lacked a certain tension; the "easiness" impacted connecting more to characters and story. No urgency to turn the page or get the next book. Strangers were very quick to have very deep emotions for other characters. Other than the main character, the side characters were not very deeply drawn -- although mostly pretty original and could develop more as series continues. A huge fail for me were the parents. Mom character was kinda erratic where seemed to undergo personality changes as plot needed. Dad who'd never met child before this book was awfully emo and "I love you" -- plus I really hate when centuries (or in this case millenniums) old characters seem like teenagers or normal humans. hmm. Good book. Vampires vs. Witches, I totally throw my lot in with the vampires. Vampire Hunter witch boy vs. hot vampire knight? Hot vampire knight, all the way. I am totally team vampire. that's just the way I am. anyways, about the book. it's about this girl with this long name I can't pronounce. people call her Ana. She's a witch. but she can't do magic. Darn. Especially since, the book starts on her sixteenth birthday when she has to take this witch initiation, which she fails, of course. shortly after, she finds out she's half vampire. shortly after that she finds out she's a vampire princess. yeah. and that's that. okay, it may sound cheesy, but it's good. Read the full Review at Witchmag's Boekenplank From the start I had a problem with Ana’s mother. Protecting your child from monsters? No problem. But the monsters didn’t feel like monsters at all. And the reaction Ana’s mother had, was way overboard. This could be because I’ve read too much Twilight books were vampires aren’t monsters anymore, at least not all of them ;) But putting a spell on your daughter is way over the line… I also didn’t like Nikolai very much. He acted much too soon with certain things and he didn’t even try to see Ana’s side of the story when he, as a vampire killer, is confronted with her family. I seriously hope she dumps him for Elias who had always wanted the best for her and he’s just so cute ^^ I like the idea behind this story. Especially the fresh, intriguing and unusual way vampires are described in this book. Although sadly enough they still can’t stand the sun ;) . I look forward to find out more about them and what kind of surprises the vampire culture will bring ;) The ending was a little too soon. I liked the fight between mom and dad, but everything fizzled out. I’d loved to see a bit more action. Not that I like to see dead or hurt witches and vampires, but there was so much tension at the end of the book that I was a bit disappointed that it ended like that, I expected a bit more ;) Overall rating 3 hearts. It was a nice story to read, but the ending was weak. The idea on the other hand was very refreshing and well done, although the love triangle is a bit cliché ;). Oh well, when it’s written well, it’s worth reading ;) aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Twilightmeets The Princess Diariesin the new series from the author of Honeymoon of the DeadOn her sixteenth birthday, Anastasija Parker learns that her so-called deadbeat dad is actually a vampire king. And he wants Ana to assume her rightful position at his side, in spite of the fact that she has witch's blood running through her veins-from her mother's side. Too bad witches and vampires are mortal enemies. And now Ana's parents are at each other's throats over her future. It's up to Ana to make a choice, but deciding your eternal destiny is a pretty big deal for a girl who just wants to get through high school. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

this book has so much potential, its a shame it didnt have anything good happen in it. Tate hallaway has a great way with words it shows throughout the book.
However i felt it was lacking something, like the story was too short for the plot and development. It could have easily been an extra 100 pages that built up the story and added the missing grab.
That being said since i did generally enjoy the book and its concept im going to buy the second one in hope that something more happens. ( )
