It has a different werewolf concept that was well explained and made sense. I liked the way the author worked the facts in without an info dump. Liam had a wonderful sense of humor and was a kind man even though he was a very tough alpha. Kim was a strong character who thought things out and didn't spend the book being whiny and doing stupid things to show her independence which would lead her into danger as so many heroines do. Good strong secondary characters with lots of room for further books. The plot was strong and took unexpected turns which kept it interesting. Looking forward to the next one. In a world where shifters have been controlled with collars built by fae and live in shifter-towns, given few rights, a human woman is trying to defend a shifter accused of a crime against his human lover. But with complicated clans, multiple shifter breeds, complex laws both in the human and shifter worlds that dictate Kim’s every move, things quickly spin out of control. Please excuse typos/name misspellings. Entered on screen reader. This was I'm sorry to say my first Jennifer Ashley read, but it will not be my last. I really enjoyed the paranormal romance. Jennifer does a wonderful job of incorporating quite a bit of realism into a fantasy story. In this book, people know that shifters exist and they are treated accordingly. They are segregated and treated like second class citizens . She does a great job of showing the division between 'humans'. It made the story and the characters really come to life. The ending wrapped up a little neater than I'd like, but it in no way dampens the story. I cannot wait for the next book in the series to release. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Collared and controlled, Shifters are outcast from humanity, forced to live in Shiftertowns. But waiting within are passions that no collar can contain... Like most Shifters, Liam Morrissey has learned that trusting humans leads to no good. But when beautiful attorney Kim Fraser enters Shiftertown alone in order to prove her client's innocence, Liam's alpha nature leaves him no choice but to offer his protection.
