It subtly introduced the different types of dinosaurs while also delivering a message. The author made the names of the dinosaurs italicized, which made it stand out more. After introducing the dinosaur, there would be a little tidbit about it afterwards. For example, “He harnessed himself to the meanest ole plesiosaurus that ever swam the Great Salt Lake”. The author didn’t come out and directly tell us what a plesiosaurus was, but now we know that it is one of the dinosaurs that could swim and could be found in the Great Salt Lake. The book is set up as an adventure so it is little messages that teach the children new facts about dinosaurs, even if they may not notice that they are even learning. The author was using a western dialogue as the character was speaking like saying, “That the Tyrannosaurus rex you’re meanin’ me to tame?” This language makes the book more appealing because you get the chance to pretend you’re someone else by reading in another accent. This could be fun for children and it really puts you in the old western setting that the book is taking place in. The big meaning of this story is that even though the boy “wasn’t a big feller”, he was still able to be brave and conquer something that no one else had. It just goes to show you that, no matter your size, if you set your mind to it then you can conquer anything. Also, the young boy failed a few times when the dinosaur kept breaking free, but he kept trying and eventually accomplished his goal. It teaches children to preserver and not give up even if they fail a few times. ( ) aucune critique | ajouter une critique
With the strength of an Iguanodon and the speed of a Utah Raptor, lasso-tossing, Pleiosaurus-riding Rocky is legendary. There isn't a dinosaur in the land that would think of giving Rocky a lick of trouble. That is, until he meets T. Rex, the rip-roarinest, snip-snortinest, flame-breathinest reptilian ever to stomp the earth. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
