I can't begin to say how this book has inspired me. Robert Swan's quest to walk, battle and save Antarctica is a triumph and a tragedy, an adventure of the global mind, body and soul. It mixes stubborn adversity with environmental politics, freeze-dried food with land-locked sailboats, Capt. Robert Scott with Al Gore, and the young people of today with the movers and shakers of tomorrow. How relevant, appropriate and necessary it is to read this book and pass it on, hopefully, in time for 2041. (
