Beautifully simple, yet informative, tale of life on a modern family farm. The pace is slow and thoughtful. Soft watercolor illustrations depict the life and landscape. I have no doubt that adults will love this book – it is well done. I’m just not sure that it will hold the attention of younger readers. Title page includes a glossary of farming terms. ( ) Farm delivers a realistic view of how farms operate throughout the seasons. From early spring until autumn, families are managing crops to yield produce for the local markets. This book follows a family that consists of a man, wife, daughter, son, and a host of farm animals. Throughout the months, the family is seen cultivating the fields on the farmland. The dad is seen operating the tractor. The daughter and son are responsible for feeding the farm animals. After school, the story mentions that they even planted various produce such as carrots and beans. Life on the farm can be tough. This book provides lovely illustrations in its design using lines that expresses flat land that extends beyond the reach of the range that the eye can see. There are no hills or mountains in the illustrations. Space is also expressed to convey a sense of isolation from the general population. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
