Suppose your neighbor-hood was being invaded by the Nazis and your neighbors were screaming and crying out in pain. Would you ignore their cries by turning your television volume up to drown out the noise? Or would you realize that you were in a war and you had to do something besides just idly sitting by? This story seeks to make warriors out of bystanders. To make us all realize, that no matter what our age, if we are saved, we are all truly Soldiers of the Cross, empowered to victory. The story, in poetic form, takes the dreamer on a journey into the world of spiritual warfare on a grand scale. God takes him on this journey so he can really see what is going on in the world around him in the spiritual world. Paul, our dreamer, finds out that his world really has gone to hell, and hell is knocking at the door. Through a central character, James, and other various characters the dreamer is able to see the many faces of war. War is never just about an individual, but about all the people caught up in the horror that is war. At the end of the dream the dreamer realizes that he must be actively involved now. No matter what the age of the readers, all will be able to identify with at least one of the characters. Over 300 scripture references are given throughout the story to continually point the readers back to their roots- God's word.… (plus d'informations)

This is a book of poetry, telling the story of Paul as God speaks to him in a dream of spiritual warfare. The message is that we need to stop sitting on the sidelines while watching the world in chaos. Even though we won't win every battle, when we are victorious we will grow spiritually. The rhymn is not always fluid, but it all seems to fit together somehow and tell a wonderful story. ( )

I loved the idea of telling the story through poetry and it was definitely beautifully done. At times the poetry didn’t flow smoothly due to the story line. Paul is a dreamer and is taken on a journey through the world of spiritual warfare. He realizes that he can't just stand by and watch the wars around him, he must participate actively. Not all battles are won. It is very applicable to anyone who reads this book, young or old. One of my favorite parts was reading about Daniel standing with the other soldiers facing off the demons. They tried to tempt him and scare him into changing sides because of his size and age. He courageously stood his ground and fought the demon. The book is filled with scripture references. That was another reason it was so slow reading it. At first I kept my Bible along side and tried to look the scripture up. Finally I had to wait until I had finished and go back to find the references. I believe this is a must read for anyone. This should especially be read by Christians who fight the fight alongside Daniel. ( )
