When Indigo's mom announces that they are moving- just her, her sister and her mother she doesn't understand . Indigo's head is filled with a million questions but when they move to a grumpy old flat, with only biscuits to eat her questions seem to increase but Indie starts to realize that her mom has a reason for running away one that out stands all reasons. This book really makes you see what you have in life and I feel as if we have a relation to Indigo everything can turn bad all at once then all of a sudden you can feel a power that drags you into Indigo's world. Has your best friend ever betrayed you just because you were keeping a tiny secret from her? Yup, I’m talking about Jo. Hi, I’m Indigo Collins, and I’m wrong about the tiny secret. It’s actually a HUGE problem. It all started when my mum and my future dad were having a fight at night. The next morning, mum told me that Misti (my baby sister), her, and I were going to move away from him. At school, everyone’s asking all these questions. Jo plays with Aisha now just because I’m not telling her what’s going on at home. If you want to know if my future dad is going to follow us to our new house and drag us back, you’ll have to read Indigo Blue by Cathy Cassidy. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Things are beginning to look up when a nice man in the apartment building starts showing an interest in her mother; her teacher and their landlord turn out to be much nicer than they seemed at first; and Indigo begins to realize what the reader knew all along, that the new girl, Aisha, would be a much better friend than Jo ever had been. But then Max shows up again.
This heartfelt story of a child suffering from her mother's unwillingness to get rid of an abusive boyfriend has a sad ring of truth to it. The only thing that doesn't feel true to life, is the happy ending... important for a middle grade novel, but unfortunately, probably not the way situations like this one normally end. ( )
