"The Bird of Time" a story about a kid who everybody thought was a fool but became a king. This book is about a kid who did not do much so everybody thought he was a fool. His father knew that he was not and said he was a dreamer. Once Pieter had heard enough of what his village had to say, he left and traveled and came across a dying bird. Rushing to help the bird he was rewarded with the bird's magic. He traveled into another town and heard people in despair. They told him what was going on and how the giant had captured the princess. He goes and rescues the princess with the magic bird. The greedy giant did not know the extent of the birds magic and that eventually caused his downfall. Pieter brings the princess back into her town and is praised by the people. He ends up marrying the princess and becomes a king. This book shows that without taking risk you will never be able to move up in the world. Though people thought he was a fool, he became a king. You should never judge a book by its cover. ( )
