As Richard Crouse, the host of the independant film channels Reel to Reel describes his book, The 100 Best Movies You’ve Never Seen, as a list of movies “that I always turn to in my off hours”. Films in the book range from Cult classics like Killer Clowns from Outer Space to French films like Brotherhood of the Wolf and Delicatessen. Crouse doesn’t write long tedious essays on the films, but rather short musings intended to spark interest.

A look at a film critic's favorite movies. Love that Buckaroo Bonzai is included as well as many others. ( )

This is one of those books that is best read in small pieces. After reading Crouse's book I know a lot of movies that I really don't want to see. But he did say why he felt they were worth spending some time with and he did convince me that some of the films he describes would be worth at least one viewing ether because of the movie itself or because of its place in film history. Recommended primarily for film buffs who find obscure facts about the movie business interesting.
