Red Dragon Rising Shadows of War is about a scientist Josh MacArtuhur a scientist with the UN who, is in Vietnam to study the effects of climate change in Vietnam. Josh is the only one to witness the massacre that was responsible by the Chinese soldiers(Josh also finds a little girl named ma who village has been massacred). China's food supply has been devastated by strong typhoons.Then, the Chinese invade Vietnam and make it look like that the Vietnamese government started.Josh finds a Sat Phone and calls the CIA and the CIA sends one of their field agents Mara Duncan find the scientist while a monk in the Chinese special forces is assigned to find the scientist and kill him while Mara is trying to find Josh.The way it ends is Josh and Mara use mercenaries from Korea to help their escape. When a helicopter is sent sent for exfil in a small farming village for the LZ, but then it's shot down then the book ends. ( )
