Alla base della storia il libretto “Come sposare un marchese” che Elizabeth, dama di compagnia di Lady Denbury, trova in bellavista nella biblioteca e che decide di utilizzare per riuscire a sposare un uomo ricco che le consenta così di provvedere alle necessità dei fratelli minori.

Enjoyed this read though the last quarter of the book was not as good as the rest I thought. But if you enjoyed Bridgerton, you should enjoy this. ( )

Great fun! I loved the plot and the characters. Agatha, Lady Danbury, is awesome, probably my favorite non-protagonist. Elements of screwball comedy abound, with wildly improbably coincidences, and the best feline stealer of scenes. Elizabeth, the female lead, is immediately appealing and her near-impossible situation makes her even more beguiling. James, her to-be husband, is a bit of a cad, too easily slides into deceit.
