Papai e mamãe decidiram contar aos filhos como são feitos os bebês. E acabaram inventando um monte de besteiras, sem imaginar que as crianças já sabiam de toda a verdade.

My kids and I love this book. It takes a potentially embarassing subject from lots of blushing, mumbling, and eyerolling, to something funny and open and natural. It's a good way to answer those first questions about the "birds and bees" without getting all clinical and serious. I first gave it to my children when they were around six or seven - when they were approaching their teens they still read it, every once in awhile, just because it's so darn cute and funny. And now that they are in their 20's, they still read it every once in awhile, just for nostalgia purposes. I'm glad it gave us an opportunity to talk about this stuff while they were still young and receptive - it has paved the way for us to continue to be open and communicate with one another as they have grown up. Very skeptical about this book, but it's actually good. The author made it very creative in so many ways to explain where babies come from. I probably would not show one or two of the pages to a young child. ( )

This book was very surprising! In the beginning, the book seemed like parents explaining the birds and the bees in a pretend, fun way. This book took a twist, the children drew very visual, representative pictures. I think one great thing about this book is the accuracy and the scientific aspect of it, though I can understand why it is controversial. The "talk" is one that parents go about very carefully and in their own way. Though this book teaches things that are essential, it may not be the best option for everyone. I understand the controversy, but appreciate the message. ( )
