I enjoyed reading this book because of its simplicity. The illustrations were very detailed and bright.
In the classroom I would make a wave bottle, which contains a clear plastic bottle, water, blue food coloring, and mineral oil. I would have the students pass the bottle around the room and explain that this is an example of the waves in the ocean. Also, we would make a jellyfish out of a paper plate. I would hand out a ½ piece of a paper plate that contains 4 punched out holes across the bottom. The children will sponge paint with different colors on the paper plate. Then they will cut out 4 pieces of ribbon and tie to through the bottom holes. We will discuss that this is one of many sea creatures that live in the ocean.
