I’m glad this book was short because it was pretty contrived. Every character in it was shallow and not fully developed. I didn’t really care about Maggie even though she was the “heroine”. When her old partner Barry gets separated from his head, I laughed because I wasn’t sure how I was supposed to feel about it. Should I have cheered or cried because one bad guy got killed by a worse bad guy?

The main story is about the new “mark” turning out to be an ex-FBI agent trying to clear his name. He ends up stealing the fake identity of the man who helped to frame him. The money that was being laundered in Jamaica becomes Maggie’s. Money stolen by one thief gets stolen by another. It was a fairly engaging story but one I could have lived without. ( )
