Katie Fforde is who I always turn to when I need a fix of chick-lit. You see, I can't stand the typical chick-lit fare, which inevitable involves a bright young thing working in London for an advertising agency. How can I relate to that? But Katie Fforde's women, while no less bright and young, are usually in the countryside, working at interesting things like gardening, running B&Bs, etc.

In this one, Fforde tackles her usual storyline with not one, but three, women! And she manages to find them all happy endings. May, Sally and Harriet all need money for various reasons, so take jobs with a cleaning agency. When they find out their boss is defrauding them, they go it on their own, starting their own agency. Along the way, they all fall for devastatingly handsome clients whom, typically, they all dislike intensely at first sight.
