As might be expected of a book about printmaking, the book is superbly illustrated with about 120 reproductions of the work of the Press and the Studio together with photographs of the people and processes involved. There is a bibliography of works about the Curwen Press and Curwen Studio and the main protagonists, but monographs on the artists associated with the press are excluded, as are works printed at the Press. The book has a good index. For anyone interested in fine printing, the private presses or fine illustration in the twentieth century this will be both an entertaining read and an essential reference work.
