Just let students read and they will become readers. Amazing how it will boost their scholastic scores as well. Great recommendations and advice on books for middle grade readers. ( ) I am a parent of 4 girls who has been trying to instill the love of reading in them. I am only half way through and LOVE this book and highly recommend it to everyone! It has made realize that even as a parent who loves to do nothing but shove my nose into a book, I need to look at each child's interests, personalities etc. I am now changing my "tune" and let them choose their own books with recommendations and not say no to any book that they decide to take out. It's all about getting them to read right?! aucune critique | ajouter une critique
From the Publisher: Donalyn Miller says she has yet to meet a child she couldn't turn into a reader. No matter how far behind Miller's students might be when they reach her 6th grade classroom, they end up reading an average of 40 to 50 books a year. Miller's unconventional approach dispenses with drills and worksheets that make reading a chore. Instead, she helps students navigate the world of literature and gives them time to read books they pick out themselves. Her love of books and teaching is both infectious and inspiring. The book includes a dynamite list of recommended "kid lit" that helps parents and teachers find the books that students really like to read. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
