I thought a few of the panels might be a bit scary for a younger middle grade reader. Reminded me of Amulet a little bit. ( ) Not a bad book. Illustrations are good and the story line is interesting as well. I have the third volume at home so I wanted to start reading this to see if it peaked my interest. It had. The story is about 4 kids finding a portal in an old house to another world that is dangerous. Definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series. This is about some kids who meet a girl and they go exploring in her deceased grandfather's house. The get scared and run away, and come back the next day to discover a portal to another world. Two of the kids end up stuck in the other world, and the story continues in the next book. This story kind of reminds me about The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. This story could be used to talk about right from wrong. For example, if asked to skip class, students can discuss how this is wrong. This story can also be used to discuss how to make new friends.
It’s quickly paced to keep young readers from getting bored. Adults will find the story just as engaging as well. Appartient à la sérieThe Elsewhere Chronicles (Book 1) Listes notables
