As other reviewers have commented, this book is similiar to Beauty and the Beast. Whereas I liked the characters, and did think they had chemistry, his leather mask was just silly. Other than the mask, I found the story entertaining, I especially liked the hero's inner torment and determination to find out what happened to his parents. While the plot of this book was entertaining (think Beauty and the Beast meets The Mummy), there were some questions left unanswered at the end. I would have liked to have seen more done with the secret tunnels. Camille was a rather pathetic character too, so passively accepting of Brian's dismissal of her. It was rather infuriating to watch her go from willing to stand up to him in the beginning of the book to acting more like a kicked puppy by the end. For someone who claimed to her own choices, she sure chose to roll over when he finally really did act like the monster he pretended to be. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
Camille Montgomery is aware of the wicked man's reputation. But as an expert in antiquities, she also knows his family's Egyptian artifacts are the finest in England. The problem is, her wayward stepfather knows this, too--and he's determined to steal them. So when he's caught in the act of robbing the so-called beast of Carlyle, Camille must swallow her fear and boldly confront the man whose mask is said to hide a face too loathsome to behold.
