Sorry to see the demise of her blog but grateful for the book. ( ) Charming writing plus recipes, what's not to like? Quite a comfort read. I enjoyed the first half especially. The parts about her dad's death got to me, unsurprisingly. In the second half I found the wedding topic got tiresome. To devote so much time to wedding matters seemed like an editor's packaging decision (we have to unify this thing somehow!) that was unnecessary. It came off as shallow, to this older person anyhow. By the time I finished the book I was also considering how very privileged this individual's life journey is. But I'm glad I read it and I do have four or five recipes bookmarked. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
Author of the internationally famous blog, Orangette, Molly Wizenberg recounts a life with the kitchen at its center. From her mother's pound cake, a staple of summer picnics during her childhood in Oklahoma, to the eggs she cooked for her father during the weeks before his death, food and memories are intimately entwined.
