Libro escolar The story begins in seventeenth-century, in Boston. A young woman, Hester Prynne, is led from the town prison with her infant daughter, Pearl, in her arms and the scarlet letter “A” on her breast. however her father is not Hester's husband.... One day A man in the crowd tells an elderly onlooker that Hester is being punished for adultery. I thought this story was very scary! and a little difficult to understand. Hester Prynne has a child but the child isn't her husband's. That's why she must wear the scarlet letter'A',a mark of her sin. By the way,who is the father of her child? It was difficult for me to understand the religion. However,it was also interesting for me that this book expressed humans' minds well. I'll try to read it again. This story is little difficult for me. In the old age, the power of religion was so big. The heroine have the scarlet letter because she have a daughter whose father is not her husband. In spite of her unhappiness, she lives wisely. I can't imagine well how we live having the scarlet letter. I sympathize with her! aucune critique | ajouter une critique
