A Pars aestiva containing the Roman Breviary's text for the "summer quarter" of the year--the Psalterium (including the ordinary of the hours and the complete text of the Psalter), the Sunday propers from Trinity Sunday through the Fifteenth Sunday after Pentecost, and the saints' days propers from 7 May through 2 September. Printed in minute red and black throughout with a couple of woodcut historiated initials and a few woodcut tailpieces, this edition is further ornamented with an engraved title-page vignette of the papal badge and four full-page copper engravings (the first three of which are signed by the engraver, "N. Heÿlbrouk"): These show King David singing psalmody, the Holy Trinity, the Last Supper. ( )
