A New York Times Bestseller

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Julia Quinn comes the story of Hyacinth Bridgerton, in the seventh of her beloved Regency-set novels featuring the charming, powerful Bridgerton family, now a series created by Shondaland for Netflix.

HYACINTH'S STORY

Meet Our Hero . . .

Gareth St. Clair is in a bind. His father, who detests him, is determined to beggar the St. Clair estates and ruin his inheritance. Gareth's sole bequest is an old family diary, which may or may not contain the secrets of his past . . . and the key to his future. The problem isâ??it's written in Italian, of which Gareth speaks not a word.

Meet Our Heroine . . .

All the ton agreed: there was no one quite like Hyacinth Bridgerton. She's fiendishly smart, devilishly outspoken, and according to Gareth, probably best in small doses. But there's something about herâ??something charming and vexingâ??that grabs him and won't quite let go . . .

Meet Poor Mr. Mozart . . .

Or don't. But rest assured, he's spinning in his grave when Gareth and Hyacinth cross paths at the annualâ??and annually discordantâ??Smythe-Smith musicale. To Hyacinth, Gareth's every word seems a dare, and she offers to translate his diary, even though her Italian is slightly less than perfect. But as they delve into the mysterious text, they discover that the answers they seek lie not in the diary, but in each other . . . and that there is nothing as simpleâ??or as complicatedâ??as a singl… (plus d'informations)

Violet wishes to see her last daughter, Hyacinth, married, but with the start of her 4th season, she is beginning to despair. Hyacinth just can't seem to find a man who can keep up with her adventurous spirit and witty tongue.

Lady Danbury is close with Hyacinth who comes to read to her each Tuesday. So, at the annual Smythe-Smith musicale, Hyacinth finds herself sitting with Lady Danbury and her grandson, Gareth who is estranged from his father.

When Gareth receives a diary from his late paternal grandmother, Hyacinth volunteers to translate the Italian for him leading to revelations about hidden treasures and Gareth's true paternity. Gareth finds Hyacinth fascinating and infuriating by equal measure. But, as the two work together, they find a growing attraction that both Violet and Lady Danbury encourage.

This romance is typical of the Bridgerton series - light and fun reading. I had no real doubt that Gareth and Hyancinth would end up happy and together, but it was nice to see how they got there. If you enjoyed the previous novels in this series, don't skip this one! ( )

I loved the youngest Bridgerton daughter and her adventurous spirit. So glad she found her equal match. I especially loved the bonus ending. ( )

Still has a character with father issues, but he's far less dysfunctional than the others. Mostly enjoyable. ( )

For Steve Axelrod, for a hundred different reasons. (But especially the caviar!)
And also for Paul, even though he seems to think I'm the sort of person who likes to share caviar.

There were four principles governing Gareth St. Clair's relationship with his father that he relied upon to maintain his good humor and general sanity.
