![]() Actuellement, il n'y a pas de discussions au sujet de ce livre. ![]() ![]() I quite enjoyed this chapbook collection of essays from Wil Wheaton, the uber-geek. His style is very personal and approachable, and I quite enjoy the way he writes in general. While I enjoyed all of the essays, I found the included piece from his upcoming "Memories of the Future" (a collection of his snarky reviews of episodes of Star Trek:TNG) particularly amusing. It's a self-published book via Lulu's print-on-demand service. I actually ordered the PDF ebook version so I could read it on my Kindle. There's some great advantages to this, as he gets a more substantial percentage of the sales, and thanks to print-on-demand he doesn't end up with unused stock. The only downside to this is that there were a few spots in the books containing typos that a copy editor would have been been able to catch for him. Or not, I've read my fair share of traditionally published books that contain typographical errors. Anyway, it's well worth a read for all of us geeks. Sunken Treasures is a terrific way to introduce yourself to Wil Wheaton's writing, or to get a bit of a happy buzz if you've read other works. For me (as much as I love Wheaton, his blog posts tend to go over my head, and I skip them), my favorite piece was the Criminal Minds Diary, as I thought this was a window into Wheaton as both the actor and writer. On another note, I hope everyone who reads this collection is also a fan of the musical artist, Jonathan Coulton. He makes a wonderful appearance. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
Sunken Treasure is a short collection of the author's favorite pieces from his books and blog, including a production diary from his 2008 role in Criminal Minds, and excerpts from a collaborative fiction he took part in called Ficlets. As a bonus feature, it also includes the never-before-seen script to a sketch Wheaton wrote and performed at the ACME Comedy Theater. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
